The government of Punjab has introduced a special free livestock distribution scheme for widows and divorcees in Southern Punjab.Punjab Dhi Rani SchemeThe program began on Sunday, with the distribution of livestock to 11,000 eligible women, backed by a budget allocation of 2 billion rupees. This initiative aims to provide moral and financial assistance to deserving women in Southern Punjab.
Latest Update on the Punjab Govt’s ‘Dhi Rani’ Programme:
CM Maryam Nawaz launched the Dhi Rani program to empower rural women in Southern Punjab. The scheme will provide cows, buffaloes, and goats to eligible widows and divorcees to help them become self-sufficient.
The Dhi Rani Scheme officially started on November 17, and currently, only selected districts in the region are considered for participation.
Women from 12 districts had the opportunity to register for this program between November 1 and 16. According to the Chief Minister, a large number of eligible women applied, reflecting the widespread need and interest in the program.
