Mass Wedding Ceremony for 3000 Girls
Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched a significant program aimed at supporting girls from underprivileged families in Pakistan. Through this program, a mass wedding ceremony will be organized for 3,000 girls from poor families across Punjab. Each bride will receive Rs. 100,000 along with an ATM card, which will help them meet their needs and cover wedding expenses. Additionally, the bride will be given a gift of 13 items, including furniture, clothing, and a dinner set. Many of these girls’ parents cannot afford such items, which often hinders their marriages.

A survey conducted in Punjab revealed that numerous girls are waiting to get married but cannot due to a lack of suitable matches and financial resources. Therefore, the government has initiated this scheme to enable poor girls to get married more easily, reducing societal issues and strengthening the community. Now, every underprivileged girl will be provided with Rs. 100,000 free of cost to cover her expenses and wedding essentials.

The program was announced today, though the registration process has yet to begin. The government will soon establish a portal for registration. If more than 3,000 girls register, a ballot will be held to select the eligible candidates.
In the first phase, 3,000 girls will be included in this program, but it will be expanded further to ensure that every girl in Punjab can get married. Encourage the registration of daughters from needy families in your community so that they, too, can benefit from this program.
