Creating Bank Accounts for Regular Beneficiaries
The Government of Pakistan is facilitating all women who are regular beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) by helping them open bank accounts. This initiative aims to eliminate reliance on retailers and ensure direct transfers of funds to beneficiaries’ accounts.
Step-by-Step Guide
Visit the BISP Office:
Go to your nearest BISP office.
Look for a bank representative. If no representative is present, inquire about the recommended banks where accounts can be opened.
Choose a Bank:
- Select a bank that operates in your district, such as:
- JazzCash (Mobilink Microfinance Bank)
- HBL (Habib Bank Limited)
- Bank of Punjab
Any other listed bank in coordination with BISP offices.
Open a Current Bank Account:
Visit the recommended bank and open an “Asaan Current Account.”
Ensure your fingerprints are recorded as it is a mandatory requirement.
Deposit Initial Funds (Optional):
Deposit PKR 1,000 into your account.
This is not a fee.
It helps to activate your ATM card or checkbook application.
Your ATM card or checkbook will be delivered to your provided address within 1–2 weeks.
Register Bank Account Details with BISP:
After opening your account, return to the BISP office.
Submit the following details:
Bank account number
CNIC (National Identity Card) number
Name and other required details
BISP staff will enter these details into their system and forward them to the Islamabad Headquarters.

Verification and Confirmation:
- If necessary, BISP staff may take your fingerprints again.
- Once verified, your account will be linked to your BISP profile.
- Receive Payments Directly in Your Account:
- Your future installments, including the upcoming January payment, will be deposited directly into your bank account.
- You can withdraw the funds anytime using your ATM card, checkbook, or mobile application.
