For parents with children studying in private schools, it is essential to know that most private schools are affiliated with a government institution. Therefore, parents should fill out the scholarship form at their child’s private school and obtain the required official stamp from the head of the affiliated government school (either a primary or secondary school). This stamped form must then be submitted to the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) office to qualify for the educational scholarship for children in private schools as well. Note that the mother must also be eligible for the BISP program to ensure uninterrupted scholarship payments for her children.
Clarifications on 8171 Portal Payments:
For individuals facing registration issues on the 8171 portal, it is important to know that most payments have already been processed for those listed in the system. Some applications were under review, and payments have now been released for those verified. Individuals newly surveyed this year and under review will likely receive their payments in January. Additionally, beneficiaries eligible for the PKR 10,500 Kafalat installment can expect their payments starting tomorrow.
Educational Scholarships for Children:
Children’s educational scholarships will be disbursed in January, so only the regular PKR 10,500 installment will be received for now. Educational scholarships for children are not included in the current installment.
Start of the Second Phase and District Inclusions:
The second phase of payments is commencing, covering over 19 districts across Punjab, Karachi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Camp sites will be open to serve second-phase recipients starting tomorrow, with morning token distribution from 7 AM to 10 AM. Payment distribution generally takes place from 1 PM to 4:30 PM, allowing beneficiaries to collect their payments.
How to Check Your PMT Score:
Many individuals are curious about checking their Poverty Management Tool (PMT) score. Although there is no official portal for PMT score checks, beneficiaries can contact BISP representatives at 0800-26477. By providing your CNIC number, you can verify your PMT score over the phone. BISP representatives are available five days a week to assist with inquiries.
