;Benazir Income Support Program:
The Government of Pakistan is increasing the amount for beneficiaries under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). Regular BISP beneficiaries will receive the usual installment of PKR 10,500 this time, but by January 2025, certain beneficiaries may see their installment increased from PKR 10,500 to PKR 13,500.
New Payment Method Introduced with Six Partner Banks:
The government has introduced a new payment system for BISP beneficiaries, partnering with six banks: JazzCash, EasyPaisa, Alfalah Bank, Punjab Bank, National Bank, and HBL (including their microfinance branches). These banks are now authorized to distribute BISP payments across Pakistan. For example, in Multan, Alfalah Bank is processing the payments. There has been a slight delay in the current installment to update this new payment method and address issues faced by female beneficiaries.
Updated Beneficiary Survey and Eligibility Check:
The BISP beneficiary survey has been updated, bringing good news for regular beneficiaries. Those who have been informed of their eligibility under the Kafalat Program are now fully eligible and will receive their installment this month. However, those with a “Dynamic Registry” registration status do not need to visit any offices repeatedly. They can simply check their status on the BISP portal at “8171.bisp.gov.pk” or by sending “8171” in an SMS for assistance. This is the only active portal currently available for updates.

Child Education Stipends under BISP:
BISP has not yet released the children’s educational stipends in most areas, though they are available in a few cities. The government is working to ensure all children receive these payments promptly, including additional bonuses for students advancing to the next class. For instance, students completing fifth grade may receive an extra bonus of PKR 1,000.
Utility Store Subsidy and 8070 Code for Punjab:
The government has restored the utility store subsidy for female beneficiaries of BISP, and the 8070 code has been reissued specifically for women in Punjab. Eligible women in Punjab may receive livestock, such as a cow, a buffalo, or three goats, to help them sustain themselves. Widows and regular beneficiaries in Punjab with low poverty scores are encouraged to apply for this subsidy, which will support them in maintaining a basic livelihood.
