Punjab Hoonhar Scholarship Program:
A total of 68,000 applications have been submitted for the Punjab Hoonhar Scholarship Program. Out of these, 34,000 applications have already been reviewed, while the remaining applications are still under the verification process. Updates regarding the remaining applications will be shared as soon as they are available.
A major announcement by the Punjab Government is that the number of scholarships for girls has been significantly increased compared to boys. 8,000 scholarships have been exclusively allocated for girls to ensure greater support for female students.
Key Benefits of the Scholarship:
Free Tuition Fees
Scholarship recipients will have their tuition fees fully covered for 4 to 5 years.
Financial Assistance
Each student will receive a cash grant of PKR 50,000 from the Punjab Government.
Merit List Updates:
Merit lists for some institutions have already been sent, but students have not yet been called for interviews.
Checking the merit list is easy:
- Search for the Hoonhar Scholarship Program on Google.
- Click on the first link and select the Merit List option.
- From there, you can easily check the merit list for your respective university or college by searching for your name.

Interview Updates:
Initially, the Punjab Government had planned to distribute scholarships without conducting interviews since the registration process was online. However, the policy has now been revised:
- Merit lists will be provided by the university or college where the student is enrolled.
- Interviews will also be conducted by the same institution to finalize the selection.
- The required documents for the interview will be specified by the respective institution.
Bank Account Requirement:
Students must open an account in the Bank of Punjab to receive the scholarship payment. Once the account is opened, the payment will be directly transferred to the student’s account.

Guidance for Pending Applications:
Students whose merit lists are not available yet or who haven’t been called for an interview do not need to worry. Your institution will provide all the necessary guidance, including:
- Merit list status.
- Interview eligibility.
- Document requirements.
