BigUpdte: Two Types of Women Removed from the Benazir Income Support Programme

Two Types of Women Removed:

Under the latest rules of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), two categories of women are being excluded, and their payments are being immediately stopped

Government Employees or Spouses of Government Employees:

Women who are themselves government employees or whose husbands work as government employees earning a monthly salary of more than PKR 70,000 are no longer eligible for this program. Some individuals still receiving payments will also be removed by December 31, 2024.

Women Who Haven’t Completed the Dynamic Survey:

Many women are avoiding the Dynamic Survey out of fear that they might lose eligibility. However, failing to complete the survey will result in disqualification. Women are being disqualified only if they are deemed ineligible after the survey, while deserving participants remain unaffected.

If you believe you are eligible, you must complete your Dynamic Survey before December 31, 2024, to continue receiving financial support. Negligence in completing the survey will lead to disqualification for up to three years.

Inclusion of New Beneficiaries:

The government is adding 700,000 new women to the program, including those currently under eligibility verification. Through the new 8171 Dynamic Survey, previously undeserving recipients are being removed, and deserving individuals not yet part of the program are being added.

This Dynamic Survey is mandatory and must be completed by the end of December to ensure continued eligibility.

Children’s Scholarships Updates:

Payments for children’s scholarships will begin to be credited to accounts in December 2024. However, withdrawals will only be possible starting in January 2025 through bank ATMs.

Kafalat Program Updates:

The current Kafalat Program payments of PKR 10,500 are being distributed in four phases:

Two phases are already underway.

The remaining two phases will be completed soon.

Payments are currently active in 54 districts. Beneficiaries can check their payment status through the 8171 Web Portal, which has been fully updated.

Increase in Installment Amount:

Starting from January 2025, the payment amount under the Kafalat Program will increase from PKR 10,500 to PKR 13,500. No additional registration is required for this increase. This adjustment will automatically apply to all eligible participants, provided they have completed the Dynamic Survey.

This initiative ensures that all deserving beneficiaries receive enhanced financial support without any additional steps.
