Livestock Card Registration Start:

The Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, has officially launched the registration process for the new Livestock Card. This unique Livestock Card for Punjab will become functional by December 15, allowing payments to be received through the card starting next month on the 15th.

Benefits and Usage of the Livestock Card:

Through this Livestock Card, farmers will be able to purchase mineral mixture (Wanda), silage, and other livestock feed from registered dealers. This initiative aims to benefit over 80,000 farmers across Punjab. Additionally, livestock farmers can receive a loan of PKR 27,000 per animal, while startup livestock farmers will have access to interest-free loans up to PKR 270,000 for their livestock needs. The loan amount will be disbursed in four equal monthly installments, with payments to be made after four months.

How to Register for the Livestock Card:

Farmers can register for the Livestock Card at their nearest veterinary hospital. Alternatively, registration can also be done by SMS. For SMS registration, follow these steps:

  • Ensure the mobile SIM card is registered in your name.
  • Open the message option on your mobile.
  • Type “PLC” followed by a space and then your CNIC number (without dashes).
  • Send this message to 8070.

Eligibility Criteria for the Livestock Card:

To apply for this scheme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a resident of Punjab.
  • Have a valid CNIC (not expired).
  • Have a SIM card registered in their name.
  • Own 5 to 10 livestock animals.

Additional Information and Verification Process:

An inspection will be conducted by the Urban Unit to verify the ownership of livestock animals. For more information or queries, farmers can call the helpline at 0800-09211.

This process is easy, and no fees are required for registration. However, a balance of at least PKR 3 should be available in the applicant’s SIM card for the SMS registration. Registration can be done from home without needing to visit any office.
